“Fanal in Somerset”
When travel first opened up after the pandemic, I was jealous of photographers I knew jetting off to Madeira. One of the highlights seemed to be Fanal forest where gnarled and twisted trees loomed out of the mist or reached towards a starry sky. It’s only recently that I have discovered our own Fanal closer to home. I’ve explored Dead Woman’s ditch on the Quantocks a number of times, but I hadn’t seen this copse before. Unfortunately, the light pollution from Bridgwater and Hinkley Point means this won’t be a good astrophotgraphy spot, but it works well in the fog.
