“The Church and the Tower”
I love it when a plan comes together. I’d been scouting this location for well over a year and I finally found the landowner and got permission to take a photo from this spot. I returned a few times during the following 6 months to see how the scene evolved and what the best conditions are to get mist around the Tor—but not so much as to obscure my view. I would have liked to see this image with a little more autumn colour, but things got busy for me in October and November and I’ll return this year. The edit on this was really challenging. I wanted to draw more attention to the mist-covered Tor in the background, but dehaze and extreme contrast adjustments were off the table because I needed to preserve the softness of the pastel palette.
