Do you spot the dragons?

Luckily for this lone photographer – standing up to his boot brims in brine – the dragons due to star in the forthcoming Game of Thrones prequel were still in makeup. The production marquees were more conspicuous, though.

This might be my favourite type of light to shoot in – blue hour with some pre-sunrise, directional light. I used a polariser to take some of the reflections off the water and reveal the causeway. There were just a few moments when the full length of the path could be seen through the water before it vanished beneath the water. If you look closely, there is also a security guard standing on the island at the end of the path. One of his colleagues came shortly afterwards and politely asked me to leave. I guess the don’t want any spoilers (although I very much doubt anyone was filming at 5am…

All images are printed to a high specification. Anything smaller than A3 (in this case 10×12″ and smaller) is rendered on Fotospeed Cotton Paper for anything bigger than A3, I use Hahnemühle FineArt German Etching Paper.
