“Torn”
One of those mornings where you don’t know if you are pointing the camera in the right direction. I had already got a more minimalist shot of the trees in some nice predawn colour, but I’d decided to make a more intricate composition. While I was arranging the elements in the scene, I had to fight the temptation to move as the colour built just to the left of this frame. Luckily, my stubbornness paid off and colour began to spill across my chosen portion of the sky. I don’t know whether I prefer this composition or the simpler set-up I took when I first arrived on the scene. I don’t often post two images from the same morning on my shop, so that says something. Maybe in a year’s time, I’ll have decided which I prefer. Given how long it takes me to decide on my preferred shots, it’s unlikely I’ll ever stop second-guessing myself in the field?
