“Pink Fish”
Burrow Mump lit up at sunrise with 2020’s Sturgeon Moon setting behind it.
This one was months in the making. Cloudy skies have obscured the full moon from this angle for two windows before I got this shot. On the drive (and the night before,) I was unsure whether this image would come together. The sunrise was spectacular, but all the way there the moon was obscured by cloud. I almost pulled over to shoot into the sun twice on the approach to Burrow Mump. I’m so glad I stuck with the plan.
As always, there is room for improvement. Next time I would like not to have run 200 meters across a field just before composing, so that I could enjoy the moment more.
My favourite feature of this image is the photographer on the hill. You probably can’t see at Instagram res, but in this frame he is shooting back towards me. (Not sure if he can see me. I’m at 600mm a mile or so away…)
