Stockhill Wood

“Find a Path”

Woodland photography usually scares me. But foggy conditions do make it easier. Still, while I was looking for a shot in this popular bit of woodland between Bristol and Wells, I felt overwhelmed. Then I came on this scene on the edge of a clearing and the composition was immediately obvious. The pathway through gives the eye somewhere to follow through the woodland chaos and the bare deciduous tree in the clearing in the centre left adds some interest to contrast the repeating patterns of the pine trees.
